Local Governance and Community Development Programme (LGCDP-II), Panchkhal Municipality

Objectives: The overall objective of this assignment is to implement social mobilization at the Municipality Wards through social mobilizers effectively and efficiently. The specific objectives of this assignment are as follows:

  • To implement the social mobilization programme at the Ward following the approach and modality referred in LGCDP’s Social Mobilization Manual, 2071.
  • To develop capacity of social mobililzers and other Wards level stakeholders.
  • To provide technical backstopping to social mobilizers for implementing social mobilization effectively.
  • To improve the quality and effective delivery of social mobilization.
  • To improve monitoring and to assess the performance of social mobilizers.
  • To provide feed-back and suggestions to local bodies on social mobilization.

  • Selection of Social Mobilization Coordinator.
  • Selection of Community Volunteer.
  • Social mobilization training.
  • Organize and management of trainings.

  • Progress Reporting.
  • Financial Management.
  • Oversight the social mobilization programme.
  • Support Livelihood Improvement Plan (LIP).
  • Support CAC operation.
  • Information Dissemination.
  • Review the programme and assess the performance of social mobilizers.
  • Overall management and change the modality of programme.
  • Coordination and harmonization.
  • Delivery and Performance Evaluation.

 

Project period: 28 months (March 15, 2015-July 15, 2017)

Major Achievements: From March 15, 2015 to present date

  • 17 WCF Formation in 17 wards of the whole municipality.
  • The total number of WCF members is 439 in total where 196 female and 243 male are involved. It also includes 70 dalit, 173 janajati, 196 Brahmin/Chhetri.
  • 10 CAC established in the municipality.
  • The total number of CAC members is 277 in total where 253 female and 24 male are involved. It also includes 97 dalit, 155 janajati, 25 Brahmin/Chhetri.
  • Support for Livelihood improvement to 4 groups of people in 4 wards was done in the Agricultural field of which there are 455 beneficiaries including 245 female and 210 male.
  • Under CAC's recommendation, small community infrastructures development project (which included goat farming improvement, vegetable collection center and cow shed improvement) was carried out of which the beneficiaries are 2245 in total including 1170 female and 1075 male.
